SMA Solar Academy Training – Summer 2025 Schedule  

As the solar industry continues to evolve, hands-on continued education and in-person training are essential for staying ahead of the curve, maintaining compliance with codes and keeping skillsets sharp. There’s no better time than now to share the SMA Solar Academy’s Large Scale Summer 2025 schedule.

This summer, SMA America’s Large Scale Solar Academy has nearly sold out. Four of the in-person training classes at the SMA Lab in Rocklin, California are fully booked. However, one final class is still available. There’s still time to join us and now is the perfect time to secure your spot in the last class! Additionally, our partners at Mountain Ridge Energy Services (MRES) and RISE Renewable Energy (RISE) are hosting certified training at their facilities. 

Hands On Technical Expertise 

These training classes are tailored specifically for solar professionals working with utility scale central inverters, including the SMA Sunny Central UP and Sunny Central Compact Power (CP) inverters. With today’s complexities with central inverter technology, understanding the Sunny Central UP and CP series goes far beyond reading a datasheet. In-person training is essential to gain hands-on experience with inverter fault detection, interpreting circuit diagrams, locating components and part numbers, conducting part replacements based on fault findings and observing live demonstrations on inverter components.  

Topics also include DC/AC functionality, auxiliary power, cooling systems, monitoring processes, communication setup and data logging. The goal of these sessions is to empower and certify each attendee with the skills and knowledge required to safely perform preventative and corrective maintenance on SMA central inverters.
