A major highlight at RE+ was SMA America’s collaboration with Create Energy to manufacture the Sunny Highpower PEAK3 inverter in Tennessee. Together, SMA and Create Energy are building the foundation for a more resilient, U.S.-based solar supply chain.

SMA’s large scale energy solutions drew attention from utilities and data center developers alike. As global data demand continues to surge, SMA showcased how co-located generation and storage can deliver instant response to load spikes while reducing grid dependency. 

The debut of the Sunny Central Storage UP-S inverter with SiC MOSFET technology set a new benchmark in performance and efficiency, offering enhanced inertia support for grid stability. Paired with the Medium Voltage Power Station, this system provides a powerful, scalable platform for high efficiency, utility scale energy projects. 

Home & Business Solutions 

In the commercial segment, SMA presented its integrated commercial storage solution that combines the Sunny Island X inverter with the Lithion GB3 battery system. This all-in-one approach will give businesses a streamlined path to resilience and energy independence. 

With SMA Backup Select, backup power can be achieved using PV alone, without a stationary battery, when the sun is shining. Capacity can also be expanded with a mobile storage device, enabling both backup functionality and geographic energy flexibility.

Visitors to the immersive booth experience shared memories of their first Sunny Boy installation, reinforcing the company’s longstanding reputation for quality and customer trust.
