SMA web-based training hybrid energy

The SMA Solar Academy has recently developed a free web-based training, which provides an overview on the entire topic of Industrial Hybrid Energy Solutions. The online self-learning course takes about half an hour to complete and is open to everyone interested in learning the basics of this topic in an interactive way.

The web-based training takes a story-based approach, with the learner taking the role of an employee of a big mining company in Australia who is responsible for a new project. The task is to find out how integrating a photovoltaic (PV) plant into the mine’s energy supply will affect the running costs. The learner starts by gathering information and ends up with a concrete working concept of a hybrid solution.

Basics of PV are covered in the training as well as the key aspects and benefits of hybrid solutions:

  • Requirements for implementing Industrial Hybrid Energy Solutions
  • Advantages of Industrial Hybrid Energy Solutions
  • Definition of the “PV Penetration Level”
  • Components and operation mode of the Fuel Save Controller
  • “Hybrid-ready” PV inverters from SMA
  • (De-)Centralized solutions for PV plants

The web-based training is part of the new online training offers by the SMA Solar Academy, with live webinars as the second element in this approach. The online offers complement the face-to-face trainings that focus on in-depth technical content. You can find more information on the SMA Solar Academy homepage.

We hope you find our web-based training helpful and interesting and would be interested in your feedback in the comments.
