From Rheas to Mouflon – Meissner Mountain Wildlife Park

You hear the birds chirping, there’s a rustling in the brush and suddenly something quietly and swiftly rushes past you. You take a few more steps – oh no – a large beast stands before you on the forest trail.
You watch it in suspense and slowly approach with cautious steps.

This is the mountain wildlife park in Germerode in which many animals enjoy roaming free. A weekend visit to Meissner is especially nice now in Fall, as the leaves are changing colors and starting to blanket the forest floor as the wind whistles through the woods.

The wildlife park is a great destination for small day trips. It has everything from a falconry which performs flight demonstrations to a inviting forest park restaurant.
But take a look for yourself!
