At PepsiCo\u2019s bottling plant in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, beverage company <a href=\"http:\/\/emsula.hn\/#tab1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Embotelladora de Sula, S.A.<\/a> (EMSULA) utilizes specially designed blowing machines to craft its own bottles, which are filled with some of the world\u2019s most popular carbonated beverages, water, juices and energy drinks.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>However, EMSULA\u2019s goals reach far beyond exceptional beverage packaging and distribution. It installed solar at the Honduran bottling plant in order to reduce power costs; better manage energy price fluctuations; be a more competitive, socially responsible company; and positively impact the environment by reducing its carbon footprint. The result? The largest rooftop power plant in Latin America.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Project details<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.smainverted.com\/files\/2015\/07\/image.jpeg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-7330 lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.sma-sunny.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/image.jpeg\" alt=\"Just one small bank of the 98 Sunny Tripower 24000TL-US inverters used to power the PepsiCo bottling plant. \" width=\"314\" height=\"161\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 314px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 314\/161;\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/smartsolar.hn\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Smartsolar<\/a>, a leading developer of rooftop PV power plants in Central America, designed and installed a 3 MW decentralized system with 11,702 <a href=\"http:\/\/jinkosolar.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jinko Solar<\/a> modules and 98 SMA <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sma-america.com\/products\/solarinverters\/sunny-tripower-12000tl-us-15000tl-us-20000tl-us-24000tl-us.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sunny Tripower 24000TL-US<\/a> three-phase, transformerless string inverters. The Sunny Tripower TL-US inverters provide optimal energy production and reliability, as well as increased financial returns.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSMA was the right partner for the project because it is a leading global photovoltaic company that has demonstrated reliability based on its high-quality products and services,\u201d said Roberto Larach, general director of EMSULA. \u201cSMA also provides unparalleled technical expertise and support before, during and after project installation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.proinso.net\/_bin\/index.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Proinso<\/a>, an SMA Authorized Distributor and one of Latin America\u2019s largest equipment vendors, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.proinso.net\/_bin\/noticias.php?noticias=2015&amp;id_noticia=246#m246\">supplied<\/a> the Sunny Tripowers for the project, which spans 366,000 square-feet of the plant\u2019s rooftop. The EMSULA project is expected to generate 4,252,423 kWh of power annually, enough to offset 20 percent of the manufacturing facility\u2019s energy consumption and provides the equivalent of planting 4.7 million trees to offset carbon emissions.
