Un syst\u00e8me hybride combinant intelligemment l\u2019\u00e9nergie solaire et \u00e9olienne, permet de l\u2019approvisionner en \u00e9lectricit\u00e9 et de la chauffer. Ce syst\u00e8me va conna\u00eetre une modernisation dont la premi\u00e8re \u00e9tape consiste \u00e0 installer un Data Manager M, pour soutenir les op\u00e9rations futures de la station.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>La station Princesse \u00c9lisabeth Antarctica est exploit\u00e9e par la Fondation polaire internationale (International Polar Foundation) bas\u00e9e \u00e0 Bruxelles. A l\u2019origine, le but \u00e9tait de cr\u00e9er la premi\u00e8re station scientifique polaire neutre en carbone, en excluant l\u2019usage de l\u2019\u00e9nergie fossile, polluante et ch\u00e8re \u00e0 acheminer. L\u2019\u00e9t\u00e9, le soleil brille 24 heures sur 24 alors que l\u2019hiver, il fait presque toujours nuit. Le climat y est extr\u00eame, avec une temp\u00e9rature moyenne de -25\u00b0C et des vents constants et parfois violents.<\/p>\n<h2>Un syst\u00e8me autonome pour une alimentation stable<\/h2>\n<p>L\u2019unit\u00e9 de contr\u00f4le du syst\u00e8me d\u2019alimentation comprend un <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sma.de\/fr\/produits\/onduleurs-a-batterie\/multicluster-boxes-pour-sunny-island.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">syst\u00e8me multicluster SMA<\/a> avec des onduleurs \u00e0 batterie Sunny Island. L\u2019expert en \u00e9nergie solaire Guus Luppens, du groupe VHC, a pass\u00e9 deux mois \u00e0 la station et est en charge des innovations techniques n\u00e9cessaires pour la production d\u2019\u00e9nergie.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0J\u2019ai d\u00e9j\u00e0 install\u00e9 un syst\u00e8me de stockage avec des onduleurs \u00e0 batterie Sunny Island chez moi\u00a0\u00bb, pr\u00e9cise-t-il. \u00ab\u00a0Du coup, ma maison est \u00e9quip\u00e9e d\u2019une version miniature du syst\u00e8me que nous d\u00e9ployons ici en Antarctique. Les composants me sont donc familiers et j\u2019ai une tr\u00e8s bonne id\u00e9e de ce qui est important sur ce type d\u2019installation \u00bb. Cela signifie 24 heures d\u2019ensoleillement, le soleil d\u00e9crivant un cercle autour de la station. C\u2019est \u00e9galement la raison pour laquelle tout le tour de la station est \u00e9quip\u00e9 de panneaux solaires afin de produire un maximum d\u2019\u00e9nergie. \u00ab\u00a0Jusqu\u2019\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent, lorsque les batteries atteignaient leur pleine charge, il n\u2019\u00e9tait pas possible d\u2019utiliser le surplus de production\u00a0\u00bb, explique Guus.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0Gr\u00e2ce au Data Manager M, il est d\u00e9sormais possible de voir d\u2019o\u00f9 l\u2019\u00e9nergie provient et o\u00f9 elle est utilis\u00e9e. Nous pouvons ainsi mieux coordonner le syst\u00e8me. Nous aimerions, \u00e0 terme, utiliser autant d\u2019\u00e9nergie solaire que possible, y compris pour chauffer l\u2019eau et recharger les v\u00e9hicules \u00e9lectriques\u00a0\u00bb. La qualit\u00e9 des appareils SMA r\u00e9pond particuli\u00e8rement aux besoins d\u2019un environnement aussi extr\u00eame\u00a0\u00bb, d\u00e9clare Guus.<\/p>\n<p>Mais un syst\u00e8me de haute qualit\u00e9 n\u2019est rien sans des tests complets et les connaissances d\u2019un expert. En cas de coupure, plus rien ne fonctionenra\u00a0: ni chauffage, ni ventilation, ni Internet. En climat temp\u00e9r\u00e9, c\u2019est emb\u00eatant. En Antarctique, c\u2019est dangereux. \u00ab\u00a0Dans des situations aussi critiques, tous les regards se tournent vers moi\u00a0\u00bb, dit Guus. \u00ab\u00a0L\u2019\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 doit \u00eatre coup\u00e9e lorsqu\u2019il est n\u00e9cessaire d\u2019intervenir sur le r\u00e9seau et nous ne pouvons donc pas enti\u00e8rement nous passer des groupes \u00e9lectrog\u00e8nes Diesel. Non seulement cela est co\u00fbteux, mais cela interf\u00e8re \u00e9galement avec les mesures sensibles de la qualit\u00e9 de l&rsquo;air. Des g\u00e9n\u00e9rateurs mobiles de petite et grande taille, \u00e9quip\u00e9s de syst\u00e8mes de stockage et de modules PV sont actuellement en cours de d\u00e9veloppement. L&rsquo;objectif global serait que toutes les activit\u00e9s sur site soient men\u00e9es de mani\u00e8re efficiente sur le plan \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique. M\u00eame les motoneiges que les chercheurs utilisent comme moyen de transport sont maintenant recharg\u00e9es gr\u00e2ce au syst\u00e8me de stockage compos\u00e9 aujourd\u2019hui de 160 modules, d\u2019onduleurs SMA et d\u2019\u00e9oliennes suppl\u00e9mentaires.<\/p>\n<h2>Projets d\u2019expansion de la station<\/h2>\n<p>Il est \u00e9galement pr\u00e9vu d\u2019agrandir la station. Cette derni\u00e8re, initialement pr\u00e9vue pour 16 personnes, sera prochainement en mesure d\u2019en accueillir entre 40 et 50.
