This will make the configuration process easier should you experience any difficulty. After the device is installed, information on the label may become difficult to read. If this information is not on hand (after leaving the installation site), taking a picture of the label and having it readily\u00a0available will be useful for future reference. This information is necessary for registration to Sunny Portal and may be needed during commissioning.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Step 1 &#8211; connect to the inverter <\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>There are two different ways to connect your Sunny Boy inverter with WiFi to a local wireless network:<\/p>\n<p>a ) Connecting via WiFi using your laptop\/smartphone\/table<br \/>\nb ) Connecting via an Ethernet cable using your laptop<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>a<\/strong><strong> ) Connecting via WiFi using your laptop\/smartphone\/tablet<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Access your device\u2019s WiFi connection in order to detect and connect to the Sunny Boy inverter which will be in the format of SMA19xxxxxxxx.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-16913 lazyload\" data-src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/settings.jpg\" alt=\"settings\" width=\"620\" height=\"246\" data-srcset=\"https:\/\/www.sma-sunny.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/settings.jpg 680w, https:\/\/www.sma-sunny.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/settings-262x104.jpg 262w, https:\/\/www.sma-sunny.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/settings-450x179.jpg 450w\" data-sizes=\"(max-width: 620px) 100vw, 620px\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 620px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 620\/246;\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>For a brand new installation, the WiFi password (Network Security Key) is <strong>SMA12345<\/strong> (mind the capital letters).<\/p>\n<p>After the initial inverter setup through the \u2018Installation Assistant\u2019, this initial WiFi password will permanently change to the WPA2-PSK password written on the inverter label. Be mindful of the password as it is case sensitive.
