At SMA America we have the opportunity to advocate for a cleaner planet by promoting renewable energy every day, and sometimes we get to contribute on the weekends too!<\/p>\n

Earth Day 2013<\/h5>\n

Although Earth Day isn\u2019t officially for a few more days, SMA employees got a head start on Saturday, April 13 by volunteering at the sixteenth annual Earth Day Restoration and Cleanup at Folsom Lake. Hosted by the California State Parks Association<\/a>, this annual event brought together more than 2,000 volunteers at 24 parks across the beautiful state of California. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m glad I was able to share this experience with my daughter. Anything I can do to help her learn about environmental responsibility is well worth the time.\u201d \u2013Scoey Wildey, Inside Sales Specialist<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Giving back to the community<\/h5>\n

SMA employees were not afraid to get their hands dirty with challenging jobs like building fences, removing non-native vegetation, painting, collecting trash and more. It was a long day filled with hard work, but it had its share of fun too. It\u2019s not every day you get to participate in this kind of team-building activity where you can get to know your colleagues and make a positive contribution to your community at the same time.<\/p>\n

\u201cEven though it was a lot of work, it was so rewarding to see the results. The park is now cleaner than ever and ready for families to come out and enjoy.\u201d -Natalia Pliczka, Senior Service Logistics Coordinator<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

SMA values<\/h5>\n

The event was without a doubt a shining example by our employees and their families who came out to represent the social responsibility values<\/a> and principles that SMA so firmly believes in. It was a proud moment to see so many from our SMA family choosing to spend their Saturday volunteering for this worthy cause, and it certainly won\u2019t be the last time!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
