You might just as well be at the <a title=\"sepulkralmuseum\" href=\"http:\/\/www.sepulkralmuseum.de\/en\/home1.html\" target=\"_blank\">Museum for Sepulchral Culture<\/a>. It is, after all, located not far from City Hall right in the inner city of Kassel, and opened its doors in 1992.<\/p>\n<p>Its exhibits are one of a kind in Germany: the museum deals with embalming, cemeteries and mourning in society. And it quickly becomes clear that dealing with the end of life doesn&#8217;t have to be a grotesque affair. From the Middle Ages to today, you can learn a lot about how the German-speaking world dealt with graves, coffins and how they approached death as a society.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_6902\" style=\"width: 272px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/en.sma-sunny.com\/files\/2012\/10\/henschelgarten.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-6902\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-6902 lazyload\" title=\"henschelgarten\" alt=\"henschelgarten\" data-src=\"http:\/\/en.sma-sunny.com\/files\/2012\/10\/henschelgarten-262x183.jpg\" width=\"262\" height=\"183\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 262px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 262\/183;\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-6902\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Henschelgarden at the Weinberg<\/p><\/div>\n<p>That said, you do need to prepare yourself to view the various rites and customs exhibit, but a visit is really worth it.<br \/>\nThe museum is open from Tuesdays to Sundays from 10:00am to 5:00pm (open until 8:00pm on Wednesdays).<\/p>\n<p>By the way, those who have already made their way to the museum should look directly next door in the &#8220;Henschelgarten&#8221;.
